Service vehicle; Tractor; County class marinised case 1150B tractor
Scale: 1:12. Model of a county class marinised case 1150B tractor, used by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution for launching and recovering lifeboats from the beach through the surf. The model is made of wood, plastics, and other materials and is painted in realistic colours. The chassis is straight-sided, with the exception of the front which slopes at an angle of about 70 degrees, is glazed on all four sides, has no roof and is painted royal blue. The four wheels all have large tyres of equal size with deep treads, the wheels themselves being painted white with eight securing nuts. The front of the depicted vehicle has a long towing bar projecting from beneath the chassis. It is shown being operated by a single driver, positioned at the rear of the vehicle wearing an inflatable jacket. The RNLI logo in the form of a flag is on the front wings. On sides of vehicle ‘TW 4’.
