J L Hanna (1945); Cargo vessel; Tanker

Scale unknown. A plastic kit model of the tanker J L Hanna (1945). The hull is painted red below the waterline with black topsides, red decking throughout with the superstructure painted white. It is complete with a funnel at the stern painted black, with the letter 'S' in white. The vessel is rigged with three masts, two either side of the bridge amidships and a small mast on the bridge itself. Fittings include a pair of lifeboats rigged to davits, ventilation cowlings for the engine room aft and a series of pipes and valves along the main deck. There is a central walkway between the forecastle bridge and accommodation aft. The whole model is mounted on a painted plaster sea on a chipboard wooden base painted black along its edges. The model is rigged with a number of flags including the red ensign, house flag, American courtesy flag, signal flags on the bridge and a single pilot flag. The name "J L Hanna" is inscribed on the port and starboard bows and "J L Hanna San Francisco" on the stern.
