Scale: 1:12. A half block model of the starboard side of a ship’s launch (1870) made entirely in wood and painted in realistic colours. The hull is painted copper brown below the waterline with a narrow white stripe above and black above the waterline. Fittings include the starboard bilge keel, strake running the entire length of the hull, rudder and starboard propeller mounting. The model is displayed on a rectangular wooden backboard painted off-white with a mahogany bevelled edge. On plaque affixed to bottom right-hand corner of plaque ‘Half model (on a 1"in scale) of a launch showing Crichton's patent surface condenser 1870’.
