Structural model; Cheval de frise

Scale: Unknown. Model depicting a cheval de frise that was sunk in the River Delaware by the Americans, to prevent British ships reaching Philadelphia. The model has been made entirely in wood and painted black. It consists of a wooden frame, triangular in section, with a series of stout frames on the floor of the model to which three pairs of uprights are attached that support three long spiked poles that are set at an angle of approx 40 degrees.
