HMS Niobe (1865); Warship; Sloop

Scale: 1:24. A model of the magazine from HMS Niobe (1865) made entirely in wood with metal fittings and painted. The model shows the shell room, light boxes, lamps, lanterns, guards and telegraphy equipment. The hull is painted below the watertight to simulate copper with a narrow white stripe above and black above the waterline. The section faces are grained to simulate planking and frame. The inner hull walls and bulkheads are painted white and internal fixtures and fittings are painted and grained accordingly. The model is positioned on a rectangular wooden baseboard with bevelled edges on four bun feet.
