Baltic Enterprise
Scale: not known. The model is depicted either prior to embarkation or following disembarkation. The twin vehicle stern doors are lowered into their ‘ramp’ position and the three vehicle decks are empty, which we can see because the starboard side of the hull has been cut away. We can also see that the topmost deck can be used either for vehicles, accessed by a ramp from the deck below (seen by looking inside the model) or for palletized containers. The pallets – for a mixture of 20- and 40-foot containers – and the containers themselves, are loose fittings on the model, and can be arranged anywhere within the painted grid on the upper deck. The pallets have wheels at one end to facilitate the loading of the containers onto lorries. We can also see on the deck of the model a travelling gantry, to facilitate their handling.
A plaque accompanying the model’s original case states ‘M.S.
