Fishing vessel; Dghaisa
Scale: Unknown. Model of a Maltese dghaisa made entirely from wood with organic material fittings. The model is carved from wood and painted in realistic colours. The hull below the waterline is black with white below that. The rubbing strake is brown with a yellow line above. The panel below the bulwarks is green and the bulwarks themselves are green with black and yellow painted panels. An unpainted triangular section at the port and starboard bows have oculi on them and the green panel has painted decoration in blue, yellow, red and white. On the port and starboard bows, and starboard quarter bows is 'G3'. The rudder is green with an unpainted tiller. There is an open section whose sides and thwarts are painted green. The model is two masted, lateen rigged on both masts and both sails are made from single pieces of cream coloured cotton. The model is equipped with two oars and what appears to be a boat hook. The model is displayed on two wooden chocks attached to a rectangular baseboard made from a simple hardwood block.
