Scale :Unknown. Model of the top of a standard pattern anchor shank and crown showing the stages in construction of a common anchor and made entirely of polished iron. The head consists of a rectangular section with a circular hole at one end and is complete with an anchor ring and a pair of small shoulders halfway down to support the stock. Below this section the shank is rounded with two flat sides and tapers out towards the crown. The crown consists of a small crescent-shaped T piece to which the arms and fluke would be joined.
