Double Trunnion cannon
Scale: 1:10. A model of a double trunnion 24 lbs cannon for use on a gunboat (circa 1840). The gun has been turned inward and painted black and is mounted within a wooden wheel less carriage which is complete with metal constructional fittings and inscribed "25/298" and "GX16" on the underside. The metal double trunnion fitting allows for a variation in elevation of the gun in the horizontal plane and the metal bracket above the gun allows for the installation and removal of it from the gunboat. A label reads "24lbs gun carried in a cradle with a second set of trunnions, 1840."
