Ordnance model; Gun model

Scale: 1:40. Working model of a brass carronade (circa 1850), mounted on a wheeled wooden truck which is in turn mounted on a flat sliding wooden bed. The bed would have attached to the ship's side by means of a pivot at the forward end. The gun is complete with some fittings for rigging and working the gun, together with a turn screw mechanism at the end of the breech for raising and lowering the elevation at the inboard end of the gun. The wooden carriage and flat bed are finished in a natural varnished wood. The underneath of model is marked "S/T" and "GX18".
