Ordnance model; Gun mounting model

Scale: 1:12. Model of a gun mounting with a hand operated locking device. The body of the mount is made in dark wood, stained and varnished, which has been reinforced transversely by two pairs of iron bolts. The metal gun mount consists of a circular platform with a raised ball-race, either side of which are a pair of hand operated locking mechanisms to lock the upper part of the gun mount (missing) in position. The left hand locking mechanism is missing. On the underside of the wooden base are two pairs of metal skids fitted at each corner. Most of the metal fittings are finished in gilt brass.
