Ordnance model; Gun model

Scale: Unknown. Model of a muzzle-loading swivel gun, which has been cast in brass and turned. The gun has been mounted in an iron swivelling cradle, which would probably be operated on the gunnels of a small craft. It is clear that it is a working example as the area around the touch hole is heavily corroded and has been subjected to damage by gunpowder being ignited. Just forward of the touch hole at the top of the gun are a series of foundry marks "James Ming...ies", "CP" with a crown above, "I" with a crown above and "V" with a above crown.
