Coast defence gun

Scale: Unknown. Model of a breech loading gun (1890-1900) mounted on a hydraulic disappearing mounting, made entirely of metal and partly painted. The gun is steel and the breech is partly steel, partly brass and can be opened. The hydraulic mounting is fixed to a circular bed with a turntable mechanism, the whole of which is painted black with unpainted brass fittings. The hydraulic mechanism is located under the gun and fixed at an angle of 60 degrees. The model is mounted on a square mahogany baseboard with a straight bevelled edge on three sides and is stained and varnished.
