Whaling harpoon

Whaling harpoon. Iron barbed hand harpoon with conical socket to hold wooden handle (no longer in position). The socket is bound for 6" with tarred hemp, ending in a becket for attachment to a line. There is a single swivelling barb, and the pointed end of the harpoon is square in section.
