Whaling harpoon
Large explosive harpoon with detachable explosive head decorated with cast diamond pattern and rounded nose. Four swivelling barbs, each one stamped with patenter's name, ring attachment linking head with double shank. Possibly acquired by Mr Christie of British ropes who sailed on 'Southern Venturer' Christian Salveson & Co in 1950.
