Le Reve; Passenger vessel; Canoe, outrigger

Scale: Unknown. A model of an outrigger canoe from Kiritimati (Christmas) Island, made entirely in an exotic hardwood with metal fittings. There is a single stayed gunter rigged mast, forward of midships, with a mainsail and staysail. It is decked fore and aft, with a transverse camber. There is an extreme rake to the sternpost and it is fitted with a working plain plate centreboard. The outrigger appears to be missing. The model is mounted on a polished hardwood base with a brass plate inscribed "LE REVE".
