Naval telescope
This telescope has a tapering mahogany barrel, which is now badly damaged. The other fittings include a single draw tube and a sliding eyepiece cover, of which the slide is missing. The objective lens assembly is also missing. The draw tube has what appears to be a stop line marked on it. The maker's name appears as 'Dollond London' on the draw tube retaining ring. The telescope was recovered from the wreck site of the 'Royal George', which capsized in 1782.
