Officer of the Watch telescope
This achromatic telescope is typical of the type used on board ship in the late 19th century. It has a leather-covered barrel and a single silvered brass draw tube. The other fittings include a sliding eyepiece cover and a sliding sun shade. The objective lens cap is now missing. The maker's name is inscribed on the draw tube as 'Ross London', while the name 'Captain R.H. Harington' appears on the collar of the barrel.
