Merchant vessel; Sanbuk

Scale: 1:22. A model of a Bahrain pearler made entirely of wood with metal fittings. The hull is plank-on-frame and painted white below the waterline with black line decoration and a black painted keel. The prominent stem post is steeply raked and terminates in an oculus. There are two masts, both lateen rigged with set sails which are each made from a single, triangular piece of material. The stern post is also steeply raked and has a correspondingly steeply raked rudder, the lower section of which is painted black and white, and there is a tiller arm worked by ropes linked to a wheel. There are five pairs of thole pins on the port and starboard strakes. A jackstaff mounted at the stern at a steeply raked angle is flying the national flag of Kuwait. The deck has two cargo hatches with covers and deck fittings include a compass binnacle, stove, cooking pot, stocked anchor, a hookah, a fender, and five pairs of oars with diamond-shaped blades stowed in two bunches. The model is displayed on a wooden base with decoratively carved ends.
