Burmese racing boat

Scale: Unknown. A full hull model of a Burmese racing boat (Burma now known as Myanmar). The hull, which is painted a glossy black, is very shallow and wide amidships and tapers to a point at the bow and at the rising curved stern. The small raised mitre shaped platform at the bow is painted a dark red and leads into a narrow and slightly angled decking surrounding the cockpit area which has also been painted a dark red. The decking is painted a dark black colour and edged in a dark red beading on either side. There is old damage to the decking towards the bow on the port side and a large crack running from midships to the stern on the starboard side. At the stern is a carved decoration in the form of a corrugated fan which is painted gold and just forward of this is a small circular hole angled towards the bow through which may have been operated a steering oar or rudder. On the starboard decking amidships is a paper label with '12' on.
