moot, treenail

Shipwright's tool. Treenail moot, with cast brass central boss of cylindrical for with steel blade set into side, fastened to brass by two bolts. The brass boss socketted to take wooden handles (short) on each side. Used to round the treenails (wooden dowels) used to fasten ships.
