Twin Hulled Market or House Boat
Scale: Unknown. A full twin hulled model of a market or house boat from Colombo, Sri Lanka. Model has twin dugout hulls with gunwale strip lashed along top edges. Flat platform lashed between the hulls. Barrel shaped cabin made up of light timber frame, covered longitudinally with a light fibre roof. The model is equipped with three paddles, a long steering oar, a steering oar or leeboard, and a sculling oar. There are two paper label with the numbers "14" and "7", "26-36" has been written on one of the side decks and on the underside a further three paper labels with the letters "G2 and "C" painted in white on black, and the number "26". There is also another larger rectangular paper label with "Admiralty" hand written in black ink.
