Cargo vessel; Ghanja

Scale: Unknown. A model of a Ghanja made entirely in wood. The material used is very light and brittle, possibly balsa. The hull has been planked and the frame has internal planking. The model is generally in poor condition with a number of broken, detached, and missing parts. The hull is deeply raked and has a figurehead in the form of a parrot (currently detached). The beam is very wide and there are two large hatches on the deck, one rectangular, the other triangular. There is an enclosed area at the stern the interior bulkhead of which is decoratively carved. The taff rail and stern are also decoratively carved in a geometric pattern. There is provision for masts on the main and poop decks, but these are now missing. There is provision for a rudder and this is also missing. The model is unpainted and unvarnished.
