Warship; Marsala; Punic Warship
Scale: 1:25. A model of the wreck of a punic warship from Marsala, Sicily of a type in use around 250 B.C. The model is made entirely in balsa wood. The model shows the condition of the wreck with the port side of the hull virtually intact and the starboard side mostly missing. The frames of the stern most part of the vessel are largely complete but the forward part of the framing is mostly missing and indicated on the internal planking by pencilled lines. The stem is vertical and protruding from it is the frame of the ram. The stern post is angled at approximately 60 degrees and curves slightly inward.
