Woolwork picture

Woolwork picture with a photograph of a RN rating, the maker Henry Robert Fisher, mounted in the centre. Fisher is clad in a white frock and trousers and a floppy cap, his right hand resting on the back of a chair. The photograph is surrounded by an inner and outer laurel wreath between which is a display of national flags, a mirror image on each side. These comprise: White Ensigns, flags of St George, American and French flags. The staves are decorated with small cotton tassels. Above the photograph is an embroidered crown with a pearl at the top, the arches decorated with glass beads. The whole is embroidered on a blue background with draped purple curtains framing the picture.
