Woolwork picture
Woolwork picture depicting a port-broadside view of a frigate. The ship is in full sail with smoke coming from a single funnel, the ship's sails are padded. She is flying the signal for a pilot and wearing a White Ensign and a paying off pennant. The naval alphabetical signal flags, code letters 'BDL' have been hoisted on the mainmast. Two headlands are shown in the background with a lighthouse on the left and a British fort to the right. Roses are embroidered along the base which has a hand-coloured photograph of a Royal Naval Petty Officer in the centre. The picture is framed but not glazed.
