In the background, a liner with 'TITANIC' on the bows heading for an iceberg. A monument on the shore in the foreground. is Inscribed: 'WOMEN AND CHILDREN FIRST / IN . MEMORY . OF . THOSE . WHO . PERISHED SEA 15 . 4 . 1912 / FROM TITANIC R . I . P.' A mourning angel kneels on a plinth draped with the Union Flag and US Flag. A lifebelt on the steps of the memorial is inscribed: 'TO THE HEROES OF TITANIC'. In a carved wooden frame, the embroidery in an inner mount.
