Dry card compass
This dry card compass has a copper and brass bowl outer mounted in gimbals and has a folding lubber point. The pivot is made of steel and is where the inner bowl rests. Its diameter is 3.5" (8.8cm). The inner part of the bowl is made of brass and copper with an inverted cone as a base to be accommodated on the pivot of the outer bowl. The card lifter operates when the bowl is on its base. The diameter of the inner bowl is 2.6" (6.7cm).
The card is black with white markings graduated to 32 points and is made of mica covered with paper. Its diameter is 2.4" (6.0cm).
The needle has a lozenge shape, is made of steel with a length of 1.75" (4.5cm)..
