Dry card compass

Bowl-Dia.5.75" (14.6cm) White painted brass of the hanging or overhead type. Inside of bowl painted white with a black lubber line painted on the side. Mounted in a brass gimbal ring 7.25" (18.4cm) dia, which is attached to the overhead rail by two brass arms.
Card-Dia. 4.5" (11.5cm) Mica covered with paper, black with white markings and graduated to 1/4 points. Decorated North and East points.
Pivot- Consists of a brass stem with a steel tip which is secured at centre of verge glass. The stem engages in a brass pivot cup which is mounted at centre of card.
