Dry card compass

Bowl-Copper weighted at base and suspended in brass gimbals. Black lubber line on inside of bowl.
Card-Mica covered with paper. White with black markings graduated to 1/2 points. Jewelled brass pivot cap. Crown decor.
Needle-Bar magnet secured at centre by pivot cap and on each arm by screws. Length 4.5" (11.5cm) Two auxillary needles are suspended above card on steel spikes. Spikes are secured by wooden blocks on the underside of the card. Auxillary needles rest on spikes by bell-shaped pivot caps. Length 1.5" (3.7cm)
Pivot-Steel spike set in brass mounting, screwed to base.
Mounted on ACO stand 7.25" (18.5cm) diameter, O.A.Height 6.25" (15.9cm)
