Dry card compass

Bowl-Brass with heavy lead weight at base. Mounted on flanged gimbal ring. Black lubberlines painted on inside of bowl.
Card- Mica covered with paper. Black with white markings graduated to 1/4 points. Has inner graduations circle. This is graduated both quadrantally in degrees and to 360 degs. Dia. 7.5" (19cm)
Needle-Two deep edge bar needles. Length 6.25" (15.9cm) x 1.5" (3.8cm) width. Secured to a single framework by means of the boss of the cap, also by four screws at the outer ends of the legs of the frame.
Pivot-Steel needle in brass mounting attached to base of bowl. Needle fits into a 3" brass tube leading to pivot cap.
Mounted on ACO stand 9" x 8.75" (22.8 x 22.2cm) O.A.Height 7.25" (18.4cm)
