Dry card compass

Bowl-Opaque glass with weight at bottom but inside bowl. Black painted lubber line. Brass verge ring, inner ring and rim. Set in brass gimbal ring.
Card- Mica hand painted. White with black markings graduated to 1/2 points. Pivot mounted on bracket centre card. Dia. 7.75" (19.7cm)
Needle-Two edge bar needles secured to card by frame carrying two balancing weights and pivot mount. Lengths: 7" (17.8cm)
Pivot-Inverted type, spring loaded brass tube holding steel spike. Tube is attached to bridge at centre of card. Pivot rests on agate pivot cap attahed to steel mount secured to base of bowl.
Mounted on ACO stand 13" (33cm)square, O.A. Height 8.5" (21.6cm)
