In the top left and right hand corner are embroidered wings, British aircraft, in yellow and white thread, in bottom corners. Embroidered inscription: 'FROM SHOTLEY R-N-A-S-O 1917 MERRY CHRISTMAS' (Royal Naval Air Service). Embroidered by Reginald Gibling, a telegraphist in HMS 'Ganges'.
