Fabric square

A cambric square with plain edges. Flowering bushes are embroidered in the corners in satin stitch, drawn thread work and eyelet stitch with lace inserts, also the initials 'FHN'. Said to have been embroidered by Lady Frances Nelson, First Viscountess Nelson d. 1831. In fact, a type of whitework embroidery made in and exported from India.
