Breeches worn by Vice-Admiral Philip Ruffle Sharpe (1831-1892) on 'Rattlesnake' during the Franklin Search Expedition, 1852. One leg of a pair of chamois leather breeches, unpicked at the seam, with button and buttonhole at the knee.
