Dry card compass
Bowl-Brass. Heavy lead weight at base. Fitted with stop mechanism which also acts as lubber line. mounted in brass gimbals on "Y" mounting. Brass verge ring with brass stud at centre of glass to accommodate azimuth sights.
Card-Mica covered with paper. Green with black markings graduated to points. Fitted with metal rim graduated quadrantally in degrees, reading to 1/3 of a point. Diameter 6.25" (15.8cm)
Needle-Flat bar type pierced at centre to accommodate pivot cap. Length 6" (15.2cm)
Pivot-Steel spike in brass mount attached to base of bowl.
