Compass bowl cover
Glazed brass circle, brass painted black, designed to fit on compass bowl. Four brass strips attached at centre by brass screw attachment which accommodates adjustable screw card steadier. Brass strips 3" (7.6cm) long and these have a bead on a silk cord hanging from end. This was designed to stop the card rocking.
