Indian Naval uniform: pattern 1828
Full dress coat of Lieutenant Andrew Nisbett, Indian Navy. Double-breasted cutaway tailcoat with very slightly gathered sleeves. Epaulettes would be secured to the coat through a series of six eyelets on each shoulder through which tying tapes would pass.
The bodice of the coat is unlined with the exception of the breast and small of the back, which are both lined and quilted, to create the fashionable body shape of a full chest.
