Bowl-Wooden with gauge arm. Set in wooden plinth. Gauging arm graduated from 3 to 12.5 and has moving needle holder.
Card-Black carbon inlaid with ivory. Outer ring marked in black and is graduated quadrantally in degrees. Inner circle holds mercury thermometer scaled 10-150F and -10 - 50 Reaumur.
Needle-Round needle pointed at both ends with brass hook at centre. Length 2.7" (6.9cm)
Pivot-Brass spike centre bowl.
Bowl cover-Wodden circle with glass top. Set in centre of glass is brass ring supporting glass tubular column, brass cap and winding gear. Fine thread passes through and is attached to brass hook on needle. Cover rests on bowl.
