Dry card compass

Recess: Ringed with brass graduated rim. Graduated quadrantally in degrees. Fitted with needle lifter. Perspex in place of glass.
Card: Mica covered with paper. Black with white markings graduated to points and quadrantally in degrees. Decorated North and East points. Diameter 6.5" (16.5 cm)
Needle: Narrow flat bar type with raised brass tips with pointers at each end. Pierced at centre to accommodate jewelled pivot cap. Length 9" (22.9.cm)
Pivot: Steel pin direct from base of recess.
Azimuth sights: Two brass foldable vanes mounted at North and South points incorporating alternate open and closed sights, threads missing.
Mounted in own stand.
