Liquid compass and binnacle

Bowl: Brass, spherical, glazed, rests on solid brass base. White inside with hinged bracket supporting card and acting as lubber line. Has upright brass tubular lighting apparatus behind to illuminate card at night. Filling cap behind bowl. Verge glass inclined downward at front.
Card: Mica on domed shaped float supported from above. White marked in black to quarter points.
Needle: Unsighted.
Pivot: Unsighted.
Standing on brass base with four adjustable screw feet.

The principle features of this compass are the spherical bowl; the card mounted on a hinged bracket, one part of which acts as a luber line and the arrangement of the lamp for illuminating the card at night.
