Submarine liquid compass

Bowl: Brass painted black. Glazed top and bottom. Fill hole and expansion chambers on side. Set in gimbals. White on inside walls with black lubber line.
Card: Mica. Has three sets of graduations. Outer: White with black markings graduated to 1/4 points and quadrantally in degrees. Centre: Clear mica with black markings graduated to 16 points and quadrantally in degrees. Inner: Black with white markings graduated to 16 points. The centre and inner graduations are opposite to the outer ones. Has a large domed float at the centre.
Needle: Four needles in tubes slung beneath card.
Pivot: Stem is attached to metal diameter rod.
