Liquid compass

Liquid compass. This item is inside ACO0158.
Bowl: Dia 8.0" (20.3 cm) Black painted brass, two filler plugs at side, and two expansion chambers at side, glazed bottom. Inside of bowl painted white with two wire lubber pointers projecting from side.
Card: Dia 5.5" (14.0 cm) White painted mica with black markings, outer edge clear mica with black markings graduated to 32 points and quadrantally in degrees. Attached to a white painted float at centre.
Needle: Two needles of circular section mounted below float.
Pivot: Stem, mounted at centre of bridge attached to bottom of bowl, carries a pivot point which engages in a high domed jewelled pivot cap mounted in centre of float.
