Liquid compass

Bowl: Brass painted black. Two expansion chambers. Two filler plugs. Glazed top and bottom. White inside with two black lubber lines (spikes). Pivot support cross beam set at the bottom. Mounted in brass gimbal ring.
Card: Mica transparent outer ring with opaque white centre with black markings graduated to points and quadrantally in degrees. Black domed float. Dims card 5.5" (14 cm)
Needle: Two needles in tubes slung underside of float.
Pivot: Brass spike on which domed float rests.
Housed in wooden carrying box which contains two brass bubble removing keys and instructions for their use.
Dims: 11" (28 cm) x 11" (28 cm) x 8.2" (20.7 cm)
