Liquid compass and binnacle

Bowl: Dia 9.7" (24.5 cm) Grey painted brass, filler plug at side, two expansion chambers at side, bottom of bowl glazed. Fitted with a balancing ring at base. Inside of bowl painted white with a black lubber line painted on a white strip attached at side. Mounted in a grey painted brass gimbal ring 12.0" (30.5 cm) dia.
Card: Dia 7.5" (19.0 cm) White painted mica with black markings, graduated to 1/4 points and quadrantally in degrees. Attached to a white painted float at centre.
Needle: Unsighted.
Pivot: Unsighted but stem can be seen attached at centre of bridge attached to base of bowl.
Binnacle: Dia of top 16.0" (40.6 cm) Square wooden binnacle with round brass top. Of crude construction fitted with sphere brackets and spheres, fore-and-aft abd athwartship corrector magnet racks, and bucket containing vertical corrector magnets. One side of binnacle missing.
Hood: Brass with an oval glazed aperture, fitted with an oil lamp bracket on one side (oil lamp missing)
