Submarine liquid compass
Bowl: Glass with brass (painted black) verge at top. Heavy bowl shaped weight at bottom. Has hinged frame holder on verge. Black lubber line on white (ivroy) also two wire electrode uprights showing. Bowl is static being bolted to binnacle.
Card: Transparent with black markings graduated quadrantally in degrees and to sixteen points.
Needle: Two tubular needles slung beneath card on metal bands.
Pivot: Metal bands in two overlapping arches holds needles and pivot cap. This cap rests on unseen pivot spike.
Binnacle: Hour glass shaped open binnacle which is electrically wired and has electrical contacts for repeater system. Has three light bulb sockets (two bulbs missing). Light wires lead to junction box which is numbered 1 - 5. Verge ring is graduated to points and quadrantally in degrees. Dirty condition with evidence of white paint. Binnacle height 11" (27.9 cm)
