Bowl: Brass painted black. Glazed top & bottom. Has circular weight around bottom. Has spirit level in plinth on azimuth circle, with prismatic sights opposite it. White inside with black lubber spike. Set in double gimbals.
Card: White with black markings graduated to quarter points and quadrantally in degrees. Domed float at centre. Diameter of card 6" (15.2 cm)
Needle: Two cylindrical needles slung underside of the card.
Pivot: Unsighted.
Sights: Has three movable filters and movable prism. Gun type line up using V on prism frame and nipple on rectangular filter.
O.A. height 9" (22.8 cm)
