Repeating compass amplifier
The amplifier consists of a heavy back plate which allows the cable to enter the box. This back plate can be screwed to a bulkhead, it also carries the wing nut attachments that hold on the cover. The "Supply" & "Trans" on/off switches are at the front of the assembly and can be located by a perspex window in the cover.
