Liquid compass

Bowl: Brass painted black. Spherical glass dome at top, flat opaque glass at bottom. Four white lubber spikes. Heavy ring weight at bottom. Expansion chamber can be sighted at bottom of bowl. Mounted in brass gimbal ring.
Card: White with black markings graduated to quarter points and to 360 degrees. Large domed float in centre with hollow surround, dome has shadow spike on top. Diameter card.. 7" (17.8 cm)
Needle: Two needles held in tubes on framework attached to bottom of float.
Pivot: Unsighted.
