Boat's liquid compass and binnacle.

Bowl: Grey painted brass, filler plug at the side, expansion chamber at the base. Base fitted with a heavy balancing weight. Inside of bowl painted white with a black wire lubber pointer projecting from the side. Mounted in a grey painted brass gimbal ring 7.0" (17.8 cm) dia. attached to the outer casing. Set in an outer casing of grey painted brass 8.0" (20.3 cm) dia.

Card: Dia. 4.25" (10.8 cm) White painted mica? with grey and black markings, graduated to 1/4 points.

Needle: Unsighted.

Pivot: Unsighted.

Binnacle: Dia. 11.0" (27.9 cm) Wood stained light brown. Hood grey painted brass (fitted on outer casing of compass) fitted with handle at top, an oval glazed aperture, and an oil lamp at the side. Two doors are fitted in side of binnacle giving access to fore-and-aft and athwartship corrector magnet racks.
